Home of college football's 2000 National Champions. OU ranks No. 1 per capita in the nation among all comprehensive public universisties in National Merit Scholars. This year, one out of every 15 freshmen entering OU direct from high school is a National Scholar. The 1999-00 freshmem class includes 210 National Scholars, including 134 National Merit Scholars. More than 800 National Scholars are currently enrolled at OU.
