The Hosty Duo
Norman music sensation The Hosty Duo will bring their unique blend of music and comedy to the Summer Breeze stage on Sunday, August 24th, at 7:30 pm at Lions Park.  Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to be donated to Norman’s Food for Friends shelter the night of the free concert.  As always, concertgoers are welcome to bring their favorite picnic items and lawn chairs to the concert.

Mike Hosty and Mike “Tic Tac” Byars have been playing music together for more than a decade and both are seasoned musicians who have gained the respect of fellow musicians and music lovers across the nation.  A casual sampling of their set might lead one to believe that there are at least three players in the band.  However, after a closer look at Mike Hosty’s base-playing feet and Mike Byars economical, machine gun like licks on the drums it becomes clear that these two talented musicians are at the top of their game.

Summer Breeze Chairman Steven White says, “We are very excited to have Mike and Tic Tac back for Summer Breeze this year.  This is the perfect chance to catch two very talented and entertaining musicians in the park with our friends and families.”  The Duo will play over 250 shows this year across the United States entertaining a brilliant mix of fans.   They draw their audience into their points of view with incredibly well written songs about love, State Fair corn dogs, tornadoes, and The Cleveland County Detention Center.  Hosty has a new CD out entitled “The Mousetrap Session” with a clever mix of old favorites and new material.  The new CD also has a Latin version of the fan favorite “Pterodactyl” co-written with future Norman musician/ entertainer Liam Hosty.

“Mike and I were both surprised with the size of donation we raised at his performance last year.  We both feel very fortunate to live and raise our families in Norman and hopefully we can raise awareness of the service that Food for Friends provides and make a significant donation at the same time.” White says.
