Jeanetta Calhoun Mish will be the featured poet at the Performing Arts Studio’s Second Sunday Poetry Reading on October 8. The reading will begin at 2:00 in Norman’s historic Santa Fe Train Depot, 200 South Jones Ave. There is no admission charge and the public is invited to attend. Light refreshments will be served.
Mish is a native Oklahoman who returned home after 20 years away “to study for her Ph.D. in American Literature and to grow good tomatoes.” Her chapbook, Tongue Tied Woman won the Edda Poetry Chapbook Competition for Women in 2002.
Her poetry has also been published in Poetry Bay magazine and in “Walt’s Corner” of The Long-Islander. Anthology publications include poems in Returning the Gift and The Color of Resistance. She is currently compiling a manuscript entitled The Work of Love, The Love of Work.
Mish married Kyran Mish two years ago. Together they have three sons, all between the ages of 14 and 16.
Second Sunday Poetry Readings are hosted by 2002 Oklahoma Poet Laureate, Carl Sennhenn. Enjoy the paintings of Mitsuno Ishii Reedy in the Depot Gallery while attending the poetry reading.
