Elephant Revival brings their magical blend of melodies and rhythms to Summer Breeze on Sunday, May 24.  The free concert begins at 7:30 pm in Lions Park at Symmes and Flood, Norman.  Bring seating and refreshments, relax, and enjoy a delightful evening of music.

Elephant Revival members are each vocally talented multi-instramentalists.  Daniel Rodriguez plays a distinctive finger style acoustic guitar.  Bridget Law enchants audiences with her fiddle, mandolin and lovely voice.  Dango Rose plays upright bass and mandolin.  Sage T. Cook switches between electric banjo/guitar and mandolin, and Bonnie Paine works magic with her washboard, djembe, and cello.

One review describes the Elephant Revival sound as a “neo-acoustic folk string band influenced by Celtic, Gypsy, Funk, Rock, Reggae, Oldtime, and Bluegrass.”  Others describe it as “soulful and seductive” or as simply “wonderful!”

The contributors to Elephant Revival are constantly working, they say, to “break down the barriers in order to remove the obstacles and to embrace the revival.  This is the dance we all revel in and the celebration is open for us all to share.  In this respect, we can all help to revive the human spirit through song and dance.”

High goals indeed, but not surprising for a group who live in the high Rockies and drive a bus which runs on vegetable oil!

Steven White, Chair of Summer Breeze, says "We are very excited to have Elephant Revival back in Norman to play a Summer Breeze concert.  They have been coming through Norman for about two years and have developed a good fan base.  It is very difficult to classify Elephant Revival into any specific genre.  They have tapped into what music really means, incredible vocals combined with finely tuned instrumentals and well crafted, original lyrics.  Not only are they extraordinarily talented musicians, they are also extremely kind people."

No matter how you describe the group or what you label it, you are sure to enjoy the music of Elephant Revival.
